Fund Distribution
Starting on July 1, 2011, the first excise taxes on motor vehicles collected will be deposited into the Puerto Rico Green Energy Fund (GEF). The Department of the Treasury (Departamento de Hacienda) will allocate a total of $185 million to the GEF over the next ten years. These funds will be distributed as follows:
